History

The BSDA was founded on May 7, 1967 by Peter Schensick, Hannelore Toepfer (Schensick), Dietmar Weigel (died 1986), Manfred Sperling (died 1995) and Jürgen Warning (died 2017). The aim was to coordinate the activities of the clubs they represented (Berlin Swinging Bears, Rubber Dollies, Havel City Dancers and Berlin Dancing Bears).
